SkateSkins® Makes Official NHL Debut with the Philadelphia Flyers
Flyers players will take the ice wearing custom SkateSkins designed by young fans for Hockey Fights Cancer Night.
Philadelphia, PA – SkateSkins®, the leading innovator in hockey skate customization, will make its official NHL debut through a collaboration with the Philadelphia Flyers for the team’s annual Hockey Fights Cancer Night on Wednesday, November 20th, at Wells Fargo Center.
This marks the first time an entire NHL team will wear SkateSkins, following special approval from NHL Hockey Operations for their use during warmups. The milestone reflects both the league’s growing embrace of creativity and the product’s evolution from concept to NHL ice.
As part of the collab, SkateSkins worked with the Flyers’ Community Relations team and fans from various local youth organizations, who were invited to hand-draw and color their own artwork, which was transformed into custom SkateSkins for select Flyers players, including Couturier, Konecny, Zegras, and Drysdale. The rest of the team will skate in Flyers-themed lavender Hockey Fights Cancer designs, symbolizing strength, unity, and support for those impacted by cancer.
“The Flyers saw the vision behind SkateSkins and believed in what we’re building,” said Matthew Keeler, Founder of SkateSkins®. “To have them be the first NHL team to wear our product and to include local kids in the design process made this collaboration really special. It’s a huge step forward for the brand, and I’m excited for what’s ahead.”
This collaboration builds on SkateSkins’ recently announced league-wide partnership with the NHL’s Hockey Fights Cancer initiative for the 2025–2026 season. As part of that partnership, limited-edition Hockey Fights Cancer SkateSkins will be available throughout the season, with proceeds supporting cancer research and patient services.
Through these efforts, SkateSkins continues to merge design, storytelling, and purpose, giving players and fans alike a creative way to show who they’re fighting for.
